Lautaro Martinez spoke with Sky Sport following Inter’s 0-0 draw away to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League to share his thoughts.
“During tonight’s game we had a lot of chances without scoring any goals. It was a tough game, they ran a lot and put a lot of pressure on us, we tried to play past their pressing and it took a lot of energy. Now we have to try to score at home during the second leg of this tie,” he said.
He then spoke on Marcelo Brozovic missing a penalty in the first half.
“He felt confident but now we have to raise our heads and see what will happen. Things like this can happen on the pitch, both for me and for my companions.”
He then shared his regret at picking up a booking which means he is suspended for the return leg.
“I am very sorry for that, but I am a player that fights a lot, also for the sake of covering spaces. I have to improve, because I cannot get as many yellow cards, but this is how I am on the pitch and this is how I play my role on the pitch: I always try to get the ball and that means I will cause fouls, and the referee booked me. In that aspect I have to get better.”
He concluded the interview by speaking on Mauro Icardi.
“He is important to us, but it depends on him and who manages him. We want him on the pitch, but it is his decision.”
