Mauro Icardi has abandoned the idea of regaining the Inter captaincy in what Corriere dello Sport see as an important opening that could lead to a solution to the long-winded saga between himself and the club.
It remains to be seen however when the Argentine will make a return to action and the Rome based newspaper speculate that he could return for the derby or perhaps even before.
Much will depend on how the telephone meeting between Inter and the disgruntled Argentine will go today and it can not be ruled out that there may be another face to face meeting that may even take place tomorrow but certainly since the beginning of the week, things have changed.
The report goes on to state that the club appreciated how his wife/agent Wanda Nara conducted herself in yesterday’s face to face meeting and while the future of the 26-year-old remains up in the air, it seems as if there will be calm in the present.
