Inter came charging out of the blocks and played very positively in the first half. Then we missed a penalty and slowly but surely lost the initiative and the chance to take an away goal back home. Lets see how we did:

Samir Handanovic – 7: Didn’t have much to do in the first half, but was kept busy in the 2nd half. A few shots were straight at him but the difficult ones were kept out.

Danilo D’Ambrosio – 5: Got his positioning right but his passing was horrible, as he looked to be more attacking than usual. Outpaced, out run in the second half.

Stefan de Vrij – 7: Solid game, always first to every 50-50 and kept the most potent Europa League attack quiet along with Skriniar. Not a single moment of panic.

Skriniar – 6.5: Much more like the old Skriniar that we know. Played within himself for some reason, beaten only once all night towards the end of the game

Asamoah – 6: Unlucky with the booking but overall too timid with his passing and mentality. Almost got a chance to score as Lautaro tried to set him up.

Vecino – 6: Pleasing first half to watch, did most things right, played positively ran himself into the ground. Old habits returned in the 2nd half.

Marcelo Brozovic – 5: Shocking corners and free kicks and even added a poor penalty to his kitty tonight. His passing also looks a little predictable. Never in the game.

Politano – 5.5: With a run of games Matteo looks more and more potent with the ball and puts in a shift. Runs out of gas in the 60th minute always.

Borja Valero – 6: Not sure if Borja or prime Radja, complete action all round midfielder defying his age in the first half. Struggled with the tempo in the second.

Ivan Perisic – 5: Looked harried and rushed even under no pressure tonight. Didn’t look to hold or take a second on the ball. His injury is concerning for Inter.

Lautaro Martinez – 6: Maybe the penalty was soft but there is no doubt his running and ability can cause anyone problems. We failed to provide him any service.

Antonio Candreva – 4.5: Candreva only proved that he doesn’t deserve to play for Inter tonight. Didn’t get a single move or pass right. That booking was laughable.

Cedric Soares – N/A: Not enough time to show anything. Surprisingly not allowed to take the only free kick considering his ability with set pieces.

Luciano Spalletti – 4.5: After that first half, we should have tried to keep it going for sure. For some reason Luciano decided not to go looking for a goal and/or a win.

Collum – 5.5: The penalty was very soft, but allowed the likes of Rode to make too many booking worthy tackles. Asamoah didn’t deserve the booking.

Inter – 5.5: Came fighting out of the blocks after Cagliari, deserved to lead at half time. Didn’t turn up at all in the 2nd half as we just ran out of gas and ideas.

Agree? Disagree? Who do you think was Inter’s best player of the night?
