Miranda will be operated on tomorrow after breaking his nose in Inter’s 2-0 win over SPAL yesterday according to a report from Sky Sport.
Early on in the game, SPAL striker Andrea Petagna accidentally hit the Brazilian in the face with his arm as they contested for the ball.
Miranda played on but was forced to be replaced at half time due to the fact the blood refused to stop pouring out of his nose, even after two bouts of treatment during the first half to try and stem it.
It is unlikely that he will be able to feature in Thursday night’s Europa League match with Eintracht Frankfurt but some reports have suggested that he could be available for Sunday’s Milan derby although he will need to wear a protective mask.
This season the 34-year-old has made 15 appearances across all competitions for the club but has yet to score or assist.
