Inter loanee Ionut Radu has been putting in some impressive performances on loan at Genoa this season. The young Romanian took over from the outgoing Mattia Perin who left the Genovese club for Juventus in the summer of 2018.

ANSA reports that the young Romanian jump to the defence of Italian legend, Gianluigi Buffon who’s mistake last week against Manchester United cost his Paris St. Germain side a place in the quarter finals of the UEFA Champions League: “Everyone can make mistakes. Even the best goalkeeper in the history of football, no one is perfect,”

Radu, who turns 22 this year, is not keen on being compared to Italian young goalkeepers Gigio Donnarumma and Alex Meret: “I am aware that I am on the list of promising young goalkeepers but it;s not up to me to be telling you this.” When asked if he is thinking about a possible return to his parent club Inter he said: “right now I am only thinking about Genoa, a club for which I feel a great deal of gratitude as they have given me this opportunity to test myself in Serie A.”
