Matteo Politano has reflected on Inter’s 2-0 win over SPAL at the weekend and looked ahead to the two tough fixtures the Nerazzurri have to play this week in an interview with Inter TV.
“We wanted to win, but it was not easy,” he said.
“On the pitch we saw a match that was not beautiful. Neither team had our best performance but it is an important victory for us on our journey.
“We have united over the past few weeks, since we were not reaping what we sowed. We said that we needed to put 120% into things.
He then spoke on Thursday’s Europa League match with Eintracht Frankfurt.
“They are a strong team, but in the first leg – especially in the first half – we have shown that we can put them in difficulty. We regret not scoring against them and Thursday will be a very difficult match for us.”
He concluded the interview by discussing this weekend’s Milan derby.
“The derby is a separate game. For everyone in the city it is a special match but first we must focus on progressing on Thursday then we can think about Milan. We want to win the derby.”
