Inter’s head of youth development Roberto Samaden spoke with TuttoMercatoWeb following Inter Primavera’s first match in the 71st edition of the Viareggio Cup against Braga.
“Our main goal is not winning but rather helping the boys grow,” he stressed.
“With the Primavera this year we made special choices, just as last year we play match after match knowing that it is extremely difficult to compete with teams that are almost complete but we will try nevertheless.
Samaden then spoke on Inter Primavera starlet Facundo Colidio, who he was highly complimentary of.
“Colido has some very great qualities, as do all the boys that he is growing up with.
“He still has to get used to senior football, but he is destined for a great career for sure.”
He then spoke on who he fancies to go all the way in the Viareggio Cup.
Torino and Fiorentina have a big chances of reaching the final. Then there are outsiders like us, because it is not easy to play without 8-9 boys who habitually play as starters and who are busy with the national teams. There is Milan too and Bologna who have a very interesting team and I’ll keep my eyes on Cagliari as well.
