Persisic Needs To Be At His Best For Inter To Progress In The Europa League

Ivan Perisic will have to be at his best tonight if Inter wish to progress to the Europa League quarter final stage in the eyes of Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Croatian has scored just the five goals this season and scoring more is undoubtedly something he needs to do but other stats clearly show his importance to the Nerazzurri cause.

He averages a league-high 5.08 crosses per game, a whole 4 crosses more than the positional average in the league of 1.08.

He creates on average 1.61 scoring chances per game while others in his position create 1 on average.

He is also excelling in European competition too. In Inter’s six-game Champions League campaign, the 30-year-old averaged well above the rest in both crosses and scoring chances.

In the three games in the Europa League thus far, it has been much of the same story. Perisic has 3.67 cross attempts on average while others in his position average just 0.86. In terms of scoring chances, he is creating 1.33 against the 0.87 of others.
