Julio Cesar expressed his disappointment this morning at seeing former club Inter knocked out of the Europa League by Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Nerazzurri were defeated 1-0 at San Siro on Thursday and now have just the league to concentrate on, where they face a fight to secure Champions League qualification for a second straight season.

Triplete-winning goalkeeper Cesar assisted UEFA in today’s quarter-final draw and spoke to Sky Sport after its completion.

“I’m very disappointed because Inter are a club I really care about,” Cesar said.

“They’re the club that announced me to the world. I hope Inter can get back into the Champions League because it’s the competition they have to play in.”

Cesar also reflected on Inter’s triumph back in 2010, having been shown a video montage before taking to the stage in Nyon.

“The footage from the past is great. I love seeing back that save I made on Lionel Messi in the semi-finals at the Camp Nou.”
