Antonio Cassano has come to the defence of the seemingly under pressure Inter manager Luciano Spalletti as he appeared as a guest on Mediaset show Tiki Taka.

“I do not agree with those who say Spalletti should be replaced at the end of the season,” the former Inter striker explained.

“Spalletti is a loyal, honest and direct person, who does not beat around the bush. Rather, he sticks up for himself and has balls. He has done well too. I think he is doing a great job at Inter.

“He came out on Thursday playing with the kids, in the Champions League he found a very tough group. Inter is a third/fourth place team. If he takes them there, what can he do better?”

Cassano then spoke on the ongoing saga between Mauro Icardi and Inter that has lasted over a month now.

“The problem is unsolvable, unless he distances himself from what his wife said. He must take a step back,” he insisted.
