Beto Yaque, the agent of Inter striker Lautaro Martinez, has revealed he is not least surprised by how his client has fared in the early stages of his Inter career.

“I had no doubts about him and I have always said that Lautaro would have no problems in adapting to the Italian league.

“The fact he was playing at San Siro at 20 and playing as if he was playing with his friends as a child, I think it shows the personality he has.

“I don’t know if he will be a leader, the only thing he wants is to play and leave all he has in every game and reach all the goals he has.

Yaque then denied reports that Inter were looking to move him on in January.

“Inter has never considered the possibility of selling Lautaro beyond the fact that interest of different teams was known but it never occurred to anyone that Lautaro could leave Inter.”

Asked if he thinks Mauro Icardi’s absence has helped, Yaque concluded: “Lautaro has worked hard since he arrived to earn a place in the team. Lautaro knows he needs to compete and prove that he is ready.”
