Inter centre back Andrea Ranocchia has reflected on Inter’s 3-2 Derby Della Madonnina triumph over city rivals Milan on Sunday at San Siro.

“We are very happy to have overtaken Milan in the table and broken away from Roma. Besides, winning a derby is always good, but winning two is better,” he remarked in an interview with news agency ANSA.

“We got ourselves out of a complicated situation, even though there is still a long road ahead of us. It was important for the Inter players to give a response to the fans, everyone around us, but also to ourselves.

The Italian defender concluded: “Winning this derby is one of those boosts that we really needed right now.”
