Former Inter goalkeeper Walter Zenga has shared his thoughts on the ongoing saga between Inter and striker Mauro Icardi.

Last month Icardi was stripped of the Inter captaincy and he has not featured for the club since with him officially out with an injury to his knee.

“I believe that if you love a team, you love it regardless, even if you do not have the captain’s armband,” he remarked in an interview with Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

“Today an agent cannot be allowed to speak every Sunday evening, there is too much overlapping of roles. I am glad Marotta decided to use the line that he did and I hope that everything will work out for the best.”

He concluded the interview by speaking on Inter’s recent Europa League exit and their league placing.

“Without looking for any excuses, against Eintracht Frankfurt they had 5 Primavera players on the bench.

“They are third in the table and the Nerazzurri are behind only Juventus and Napoli who have won so many points.”
