Matias Vecino is the latest midfielder that manager Luciano Spalletti has managed to transform into a trequartisa Corriere dello Sport have highlighted.

Most notably Spalletti transformed central midfielder Simone Perotta and Radja Nainggolan into trequartista’s and now he has done the same with Vecino.

The Uruguayan starred in a more advanced role in behind Lautaro Martinez in Sunday’s Milan derby victory in which he opened the scoring after just a few minutes.

This was yet another big goal from the former Fiorentina man who only seems to know how to score goals in big games.

At the end of last season he secured Champions League qualification for Inter with a late header against Lazio while he opened Inter’s Champions League campaign with another late header to give Inter the win over Tottenham Hotspur.

This season the 26-year-old has made no less than 32 appearances across all competitions, in which he has scored four goals and tallied four assists.
