Matteo Politano’s agent Davide Lippi is convinced that there will be no problems when it comes to Inter taking up their purchase option on his client.

“Matteo was good at adapting immediately to the levels and pressures of a great team like Inter. We knew he was a quality player otherwise I would not have worked to bring him to Milan.

“I think he is a player that Inter can bet on,” he continued. “I think that Inter will not let the possibility of redeeming him escape them. For more or less €20 million they can sign him from Sassuolo.

“We are yet to speak with the management but there is still a long way to go in the season but certainly going by the esteem he has received, I don’t think there will be any problems when it comes to the redemption option being exercised.”

Lippi then spoke on Politano’s seemingly neutral stance on the whole Mauro Icardi saga of the past month or so.

“These are things that happen in the locker room, I don’t think anyone has argued either way for Icardi’s exit or return. Certainly Icardi is a great player and I hope to see him return.”

He concluded by speaking on Inter midfielder Borja Valero.

“He is a player that I helped bring to Inter. I want to clarify that he is not my direct client though. He is important both on and off the field, and in recent years he has always made his contribution in terms of quality and experience.”
