In the coming days, Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio will put pen to paper on a contract extension with the club according to a report from TuttoMercatoWeb.

“Piero Ausilio and Inter will move forward together,” the report begins. “The director is now a mainstay in the Nerazzurri home and in the next few days he will renew his contract, probably until 2022, thus extending his current contract that expires in 2020. Thus Inter’s programming work continues and Ausilio still sees the Nerazzurri.”

46-year-old Ausilio has worked at Inter since 1998 when he initially took charge of the youth sector, aged just 25. In 2010, he left the youth sector to work alongside then sporting director Marco Branca. He would takeover from the departing Branca in 2014 and has won multiple awards for the work he does, most recently winning the sporting director of the year award last year, an award he also won at the end of the 2014/15 season.
