Former Inter manager Frank de Boer has once again discussed where he feels things went wrong for him in his disastrous spell in charge of the Nerazzurri.

“I wanted to change the whole structure and culture, because the club had not won anything for a long time. I completely immersed myself in this goal, while I usually am more interested in working with the players,” the now Atlanta United manager told Algemeen Dagblad in his native Netherlands.

He then went on to hit out at the players he had at his disposal.

“I was dealing with a rotten bunch , but I was not allowed to throw out some players. Maybe I would have had to push the issue a little more.

He concluded: “If you want to bring change, you have to do things the right away and maybe I was wrong for wanting to be friends with everyone.”
