Despite Luciano Spalletti granting the Inter team a day off from training today, Mauro Icardi could still go to La Pinetina as he continues his recovery from injury according to a report from Corriere dello Sport.

The 26-year-old has not played in over a month due to a knee injury and could well be joined by fellow injured player Radja Nainggolan who has a calf problem.

As per various reports, the pair are both looking to be available for selection for this weekend’s match at home to Lazio.

Corriere dello Sport’s report goes on to detail that Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic has overtaken Icardi when it comes to having contract renewal talks with the Inter management.

The veteran Slovenian shot-stopper, who last month replaced the Argentine striker as club captain, is currently under contract through to the end of the 2020/21 season and an agreement is expected to be found soon.
