Milan Skriniar is remaining upbeat about Slovakia and their chances in qualifying for EURO 2020 after their defeat to 1-0 defeat to Wales yesterday.

“In the dressing room we said that nothing is lost yet,” he remarked in an interview with Slovakian news outlet Netky.sk.

“Losing the goal early on was not ideal but un the second half we did better but unfortunately we did not recover.”

“Pekarik’s mistake? It seemed to me that he wanted to play the ball to one of the team but did not see any opponents but in football there are always mistakes otherwise matches would always end 0-0 so we must not put too much blame in him.”

He concluded the interview by discussing the support they received from the travelling Slovak support.

“We are happy with the support the fans gave us. It is just a pity that we did not manage to pay them back with a positive result.”
