Genoa manager Cesare Prandelli believes that none of the involved parties actions in the whole Mauro Icardi controversy can be considered a success.

“They all failed,” he said in an interview with Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

“Wanda, you are the Inter captain’s wife, you must know when to talk on TV. Mauro had to dissociate himself from her statements. Then the club had ‘that’ press release. Things had to be handled differently.”

He then shared some complicated experiences he has had with players dealing with women problems.

“The woman is always decisive in the life of the players. One night a boy knocked on my door all upset as he had just learned that his wife was cheating on him. We talked for an hour and I convinced him to go out the next day. Another had got a woman pregnant, having just had a child with another woman.”
