Matias Vecino will this weekend be deployed as a trequartista against Lazio to take the pressure off Radja Nainggolan as he continues to recover from injury according to a report from Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

Nainggolan has been out for a number of weeks with a calf problem that he picked up in training and he is currently following a personalised training schedule to help aid him in his recovery.

Vecino starred in the Milan derby in a more advanced position and utilising him again in the same position this weekend will allow Nainggolan more time to reach peak condition.

The Belgian ultimately wishes to participate in the match against the capital club in a sort of personal derby for him due to his past with Lazio’s arch-rivals Roma but the Inter medical staff are eager for him to avoid a relapse in his recovery, especially given his calf has given him a lot of problems throughout the season.
