Inter striker Mauro Icardi has not helped his case for a recall to the squad for this weekend’s match with Lazio having not attended training on Monday, Corriere della Sera detail.

Icardi has only recently returned to training after over a month out with a knee injury and the report details that “some members of Spalletti’s staff were waiting for him at the Pinetina where no compulsory but only optional training sessions were scheduled.

“The club had hinted that the session was strongly recommended for those who need to regain fitness for the season finale. It is obvious that the absentee move of the striker does not facilitate a possible call by Spalletti for the match against Lazio scheduled for Sunday evening.”

Icardi last played for Inter on February 9 and with him seemingly looking unlikely to be called up for the Lazio match it remains to be seen if he will be called upon for the next match against Genoa on April 4.
