Yesterday a meeting took place between Inter boss Luciano Spalletti and several of the club’s management team to discuss the upcoming Summer transfer window according to a report from La Repubblica.

The report states that it was made clear to Spalletti that Champions League qualification is absolutely crucial for Inter’s potential dealings this Summer due to the huge amount of revenue it would bring in.

The Rome based newspaper report that Inter are looking for a player who can partner Paulo Dybala, on the basis that the reported swap deal that would send Mauro Icardi to Juventus takes place.

At the moment, Romelu Lukaku is the favoured option. The Manchester United and Belgian international forward has 15 goals at club level this season and Inter would need give him a big salary given he currently earns no less than €10 million at Old Trafford.

Lukaku aside, the Nerazzurri have Roma’s Edin Dzeko and Atalanta’s Duvan Zapata in mind and both would be far cheaper to acquire than Lukaku.
