Inter are monitoring the progress of 18-year-old Hungarian midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai ahead of a potential move in the summer, Tuttosport reported today.

Szoboszlai has provided nine goals and six assists in all competitions for Red Bull Salzburg this season and made his senior international debut last week, appearing as a substitute in Hungary’s 2-0 defeat to Slovakia.

The midfielder was one of the names discussed in a meeting between Piero Ausilio and Inter scouts at Appiano Gentile yesterday.

Ausilio also touched upon Inter’s plans to solve their perennial problems at full-back for next season, with Cedric Soares likely to return to Southampton when his loan deal expires.

Matteo Darmian, who is out of contract with Manchester United in 2020, remains the club’s first target, but France international Djibril Sidibe is also considered a viable option.

Stefan Lainer, who plays with Szoboszlai at Salzburg and was reportedly close to joining Napoli last summer, is a third player the club are following with interest.
