Former Inter striker Francesco Moriero has spoken on Mauro Icardi’s possible return to first team action against Lazio this weekend.

Icardi has spent around six weeks on the sidelines with a knee injury but made a return to full training with the rest of his Inter teammates at the beginning of this week.

“Inter will be recovering an important player and the peace is welcome because they have to fight to keep themselves in a Champions League qualification position,” he said in an interview with Radio Sportiva.

Moriero, who spent three years on Inter’s books between 1997-2000, then shared his opinion on reports that the Milanese clubs are ready to leave San Siro and build a brand new stadium which in all likelihood would see San Siro demolished.

“At San Siro I had so many battles and lived many good moments in the ground. Therefore I do not like the idea of it being demolished.”
