As the future of the Milanese clubs at San Siro remains up in the air, Corriere della Sera have recalled a study that took place back in 2015 that looked at a way the clubs could possibly renovate and modernise the iconic ground and the Milan based newspaper believe it could still work.
In the analysis, which was performed by architectural firm Don’t Stop, San Siro became a modern facility with 58,000 seats, of which there were 8,150 premium seats, with over 12,000 square metres dedicated to fan services.
The renovation work would cost somewhere between €180-200 million, therefore making it far less than the figures currently circulating that suggest it could take around €350 million to renovate San Siro.
The work relating to the study in question could be carried out in a number of phases, thus meaning there would be no need for any interruptions during the course of season. This particular plan would not only be sustainable but also of great economic advantage to both of the clubs and the city council.
