The search for complete normality following the recent Mauro Icardi controversy continued at training today as Inter’s completed their final training sessions ahead of tomorrow’s match away to Genoa according to a report from Sky Sport.
The Icardi controversy now looks to have passed as evidenced by the Argentine’s return to the squad for the match at the Marassi.
During his pre-match press conference, Inter manager Luciano Spalletti confirmed that Icardi would also be in the starting line-up for what will be his first appearance for the club since February 9, just days before things kicked off.
Spalletti reiterated what he said during the press conference to the team at training and made it clear to them that his outburst after the Lazio game was done in a bid to defend the team.
🎙️ | #Spalletti:
“Tomorrow, @MauroIcardi will start. He’s shown the right reaction mentally, something which is more important than the physical side of things. We’ll see how long he’ll be able to remain on the pitch and if we’ll need to take him off.” #GenoaInter pic.twitter.com/JjoDmEEGNS
