The buildup to the game was all about Icardi and the supposed revolt his return might have caused, but none of that was present at all. Instead, in true Pazza Inter style the Nerazzurri stretched Prandelli’s men to their breaking point and then waltzed 4 goals past them. Gagliardini led the rout and newly re-integrated chipped in with a goal and an assist, just like Ivan Perisic.

Samir Handanovic – 6.5: Had one major save to make when Inter were 3 goals up. Moved the ball well, stayed calm and did the basics right. Finally a relaxing night for Samir.

Danilo D’Ambrosio – 6.5: When everyone plays well, this defensively stable full back is tolerable. Didn’t look in any trouble throughout the 90 minutes. Tried some runs forward.

Joao Miranda – 7: Proper professional performance from the Brazilian international. He didn’t look his age and kept Kouame quiet whenever they had to battle. Calm and collected.

Milan Skriniar – 6.5: The usual. Skriniar didn’t have anyone specific to mark for large part of the game but his passing and positioning is crucial when De Vrij isn’t around.

Kwadwo Asamoah – 7: Asamoah made one mistake all night and he was booked for that. Looked positive and even managed to put a good cross in to help unlock Genoa.

Roberto Gagliardini – 8: Genoa is his favorite opponent. Great movement, fantastic defensively, beautiful diagonal balls and deadly in the box. Did it all tonight. More please.

Marcelo Brozovic – 6.5: Made his presence felt even when Gagliardini was grabbing everyone’s eyes. Incisive passing and movement before Spalletti chose to rest him.

Matteo Politano – 7.5: One of Matteo’s better performances for Inter. Looks in good form and everything in attack has to go through him. Decisiveness makes him dangerous.

Radja Nainggolan – 7: Radja didn’t look like he’s been coming back from injury. Made the midfield and attack tick. Should have at least had 2 assists. All round midfielder.

Ivan Perisic – 7.5: Looked switched on from kick off. Always trying something new with his positioning and opened up spaces at will. Great goal and good assist as well.

Mauro Icardi – 7.5: Didn’t give the ball away once. Literally 100% pass completion. Could have had 2 goals and an assist. Love him or hate him, he has ice in his veins. Didn’t look under pressure at all.

Joao Mario – 6: Nice to see Joao playing, especially in the deeper role and later on as an attack minded midfielder. There is a decent player somewhere there.

Borja Valero – 6: Spalletti brought him on to keep control of the ball. Maybe he wasn’t happy with about 78% of it. Inter should be trying some youngsters for sure.

Keita Balde – N/A: Just given a run out to give a tired Icardi a break. Keita should be playing on the wing more as Inter could get the ball to his feet more. Maybe on Sunday?

Luciano Spalletti – 7: Everything worked for Spalletti. Icardi and Perisic scored and even Gagliardini managed to score. Some great one touch passing as well.

Mariani – 7: Got major decisions right. Asamoah’s booking looked correct at first, but when you slow it down you could call it harsh. Perfect otherwise.

Inter – 7: With everything that has happened over the last 2 months, this game was the perfect remedy. Especially when 5 out of the top 7 dropped points.

Agree? Disagree? Who do you think was Inter’s best player of the night?
