Roberto Gagliardini could miss out on a place in Inter’s starting XI as the Nerazzurri prepare to face his former club Atalanta, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Gagliardini scored twice in the 4-0 win over Genoa in midweek but is likely to be replaced by Matias Vecino in midfield for the match on Sunday.

Luciano Spalletti is already certain of the other 10 players who will take to the field at San Siro, in a game which could see them take a huge stride towards Champions League qualification.

Mauro Icardi will retain his place up front while Radja Nainggolan is expected to start behind him in attacking midfield, with Ivan Perisic and Matteo Politano either side of the Belgian.

Stefan De Vrij and Lautaro Martinez remain unavailable as they recover from muscular injuries, meaning Miranda will again partner Milan Skriniar in central defence.

Inter’s probable starting XI (4-2-3-1): Handanovic; D’Ambrosio, Miranda, Skriniar, Asamoah; Vecino, Brozovic; Politano, Nainggolan, Perisic; Icardi.
