De Grandis: “Borja Valero Doesn’t Deserve To Start At Inter”

Sky Sport journalist Stefano De Grandis had admitted that he believes Inter midfielder Borja Valero is no longer deserving of a starting berth at the club.

“Enough with Borja Valero, he was a great player and I have always liked him but now he is slowing down” he said when asked if the former Fiorentina man could be a potential solution in the midfield for tonight’s match against Atalanta at San Siro.

“Spalletti brings him on in the 70th minute as an experienced player to keep possession of the ball but in my opinion, right now he does not deserve to be a starting player at the club.”

This season the 34-year-old midfielder has made 32 appearances across all competitions for the Nerazzurri, 13 of which as a starter. In 1392 minutes on the park, the Spaniard, who has a contract with the club until the end of next season, has provided one assist.
