Luciano Spalletti appeared content as he reflected on Inter’s goalless home draw with Atalanta in an interview with Sky Sport in which he firstly spoke on Borja Valero.

“He did well when he came on even with Roberto Gagliardini and Matias Vecino alternating beside him with their different characteristics which made us unpredictable,” he began.

He was then asked about what he thought of Mauro Icardi’s performance in his first home match in two months. He also spoke briefly on Ivan Perisic’s performance.

“Today was Inter’s day, not Icardi’s. Like in all the other matches, past and future. Icardi must do well, he must drop deep to get the ball which he done a lot more than today but he must run for the team like all complete strikers do.”

“Perisic started off badly, then slowly he slowly turned on the engine and did what he had to do.

Next Spalletti spoke on the overall performance of the team.

“Every now and then we mess up on and we don’t follow logic. Simplicity sometimes seems useless, but then it’s what makes us find space. The team played well, so I am very calm”

He concluded by speaking on Marcelo Brozovic’s condition after he was forced off the field injured.

“He has a muscle injury and will certainly not play the next game.”
