Inter vice-president Javier Zanetti has voiced his opinion on Inter possibly spending part of their pre-season preparations in Swiss city Lugano, in an interview with Corriere del Ticino, the local newspaper in Lugano.
“We would be close to Appiano Gentile, where the Nerazzurri training ground is located and needs to be renovated. We can have a nice pre-season retreat in Lugano,” he remarked.
Zanetti was then asked if a good pre-season in Lugano could help him and Inter forget their UEFA Cup exit at the hands of Lugano back in 1995/96.
“That was a different time…now we are talking about having a good preparation for the coming season that I hope can serve us well and help us have a great future.”
Lugano aside, Inter have already confirmed plans to have some of their pre-season in Asia, where they will play games in China and Singapore. They will also play a game in London too.
