Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Bergomi shared his thoughts on Inter’s goalless draw with Atalanta last night while he was a guest in the Sky Sport studios.
“Inter had a match-point which they wasted while it was a great point for Atalanta because it was obtained without Duvan Zapata,” he began.
“It cannot be said that Inter have already qualified for the Champions League. Inter are five points ahead of Milan and they still have to face important opponents in the race in Roma and Napoli.”
Bergomi then spoke on how many points he thinks it will take to secure Champions League qualification.
“Certainly the points quota to qualify for the Champions League has decreased. Last year Inter qualified with 72 points while this year it might be enough to qualify with just below 70 points.
“The matches against Frosinone and Udinese are simple matches on paper but playing away from home can help these two teams hide their pitfalls.”
He concluded with a quick word on the recent Mauro Icardi situation: “It can never be filed away and forgotten about.”
