Journalist Luigi Garlando has discussed Inter’s goalless draw at home to Lazio last night in his weekly newspaper column for Gazzetta dello Sport.

“With Milan losing and Lazio drawing, had Inter won they could have went seven points clear with seven games to left to play.

“The Nerazzurri played out a 0-0 draw with an excellent Atalanta side and it was a wasted opportunity from Inter but the point is not as bad as it seems because the competition has not gotten any closer. Atalanta, Milan and Lazio – on the basis they win their game in hand against Udinese – are all five points behind.”

Garlando also touched upon Mauro Icardi as the Argentine made his first home appearance in two months.

“As expected, he divided the Nerazzurri support between good and bad whistle and love and hate. Maurito missed a simple chance, but he did good things and showed new signs of life. Him dropping back is a good development to his game.”

He concluded: “Brozo’s injury is bad news for Inter who do not have a similar substitution. Inter had an excellent start and had the best of the chances but Atalanta dominated the match for a long time.”
