Ivan Rakitic will remain with Barcelona for at least next season according to a report from Spanish newspaper Marca.

The Croatian, who was a runner up at last year’s World Cup, has drawn strong links to both Inter and Juventus among others in recent weeks and months.

With the pending arrival of Frenkie de Jong at the Blaugrana, rumours that Rakitic would be moved on have been strong although according to Marca, he is eager to stay and wishes to fight for his place in Ernesto Valverde’s side, who could also welcome Paris St. Germain’s Adrien Rabiot.

The 31-year-old central midfielder has been with Barcelona since joining from Sevilla in the Summer of 2014 and has this season been an integral part of the Blaugrana side who look set to clinch the La Liga title shortly.

He has made no less than 45 appearances across all competitions this season in which he has scored five goals and tallied nine assists.
