Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has placed Mauro Icardi’s name at the top of his wish list in the event that either Diego Costa or Antoine Griezmann is to leave the club this Summer according to a report from AS.
The Spanish giants are eager to try and take advantage of the not so peaceful situation between the club and the 26-year-old Argentine.
As per the Spanish newspaper, the Colchoneros have already initiated contact with his wife, and agent, Wanda Nara over a possible move to the Wanda Metropolitano in the Summer transfer window.
This season Icardi, who is under contract with Inter through to the end of the 2020/21 season, has made 29 appearances across all competitions in which he has contributed 16 goals and provided four assists for his teammates in 2544 minutes on the park.
Other targets for the Spanish capital club include Napoli’s Lorenzo Insigne and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Luka Jovic.
