Mauro Icardi should retain his place in the starting line-up this weekend despite Lautaro Martinez returning to training according to a report from Sport Mediaset.

Lautaro took full advantage of Icardi’s recent absence from the team and solidified his place as the starting striker in Luciano Spalletti’s team in many people’s eyes with his performances.

However, due to being injured in recent weeks, Icardi has been able to return to the starting eleven and has started in each of the past two games and should do the same this weekend when Inter face Frosinone away from home.

The report from the broadcaster goes on to report that centre back Stefan de Vrij, who has also been injured as of late, will make a return to the starting eleven and will resume his partnership with Milan Skriniar at the heart of the Nerazzurri defence, which has been one of the best across Europe this season.
