Milan Skriniar could become Inter’s new captain next season, according to Tuttosport.

Skriniar is set to sign a new deal through to 2023 with the Nerazzurri after parting company with agent Karel Csonto recently, putting an end to speculation linking him with a move away in the summer.

The Slovak has made 79 appearances for the club since joining from Sampdoria in 2017 and could take the captain’s armband from Samir Handanovic, should Inter decide to make a change before the 2019-20 campaign.

In any case, Skriniar is considered the natural successor to Handanovic whenever the goalkeeper leaves the club.

“Skriniar has suitors all over the place and is definitely Inter’s most wanted player,” Tuttosport said.

“However, he is currently worth €100 million and Inter would not even sit down for talks with another club unless they offered €80 million.

“He will still be at Inter next season and will help form a super defence alongside Stefan De Vrij and Diego Godin.”
