Barcelona have removed themselves from the race to sign coveted Eintracht Frankfurt striker Luka Jovic this Summer according to a report from Mundo Deportivo.

The Serbian striker has been one of the most prolific strikers in Europe this season and the report from the Spanish newspaper does not go into detail as to why the Blaugrana have relinquished their interest.

This will come as good news to the likes of Inter and Real Madrid, both of whom have a reported interest in signing the 21-year-old when the Summer comes around.

Jovic has scored an impressive 25 goals and tallied seven assists in 40 appearances across all competitions this season for The Eagles.

He joined Eintracht Frankfurt on loan from Portuguese giants Benfica on a two-year loan deal in 2017 and Eintracht have an option to buy him permanently, something they are expected to do. Once the clause is activated, Jovic will be contracted to the Germans until the Summer of 2021.
