In an interview with Spanish newspaper El Pais, Inter midfielder Borja Valero spoke on manager Luciano Spalletti.

“When we have the ball, he wants me to try to create one-on-one situations for the striker. In the defensive phase, he wants me to be tactically ordered,” he said.

“He is a temperamental manager, who wants to have everything under control and takes great care of the tactics; he makes us understand the game. He is an old-fashioned coach, who wants to keep his distance so that the relationship is between the player and the coach.”

The 34-year-old was also asked about his future given he has little over a year left to run on his current contract with the Nerazzurri.

“I want to see out my contract here at Inter. Then, if I feel good enough physically, I will see if there are any offers to play for another year or two elsewhere. If not, I will retire and face life.”
