Borja Valero’s condition will be evaluated today in a bid to reveal the extent of the injury that forced him off the field in last night’s win over Frosinone according to a report from Corriere dello Sport.

The Spaniard appeared to sustain an injury to his thigh and Inter boss Luciano Spalletti said it looked like he could be out for some time.

This is worrying for Inter ahead of next weekend’s huge match against Roma given they are already without midfield general Marcelo Brozovic and that Borja Valero was supposed to deputise for him in his absence.

Should the 34-year-old be ruled out, it will remain to be seen just quite what Spalletti will do in terms of team selection for the match against the Giallorossi which could prove decisive in the race to qualify for the Champions League.

This season he has made 34 appearances across all competitions in which he has contributed a single assist in 1490 minutes on the park.
