Player Ratings – Frosinone 1-3 Inter: Clinical Inter Stay Ahead In Champions League Race

Inter started poorly but finally some of their superior quality shone through to send them in with a comfortable two goal lead at half time.

Pazza Inter lived up to their reputation as Frosinone first scored at the hour mark and then threatened to level up in the last 30 mins before Vecino popped in with a late injury time goal to calm nerves. Lets see how we did:

Samir Handanovic – 5.5: Not a difficult night for Samir. Few saves felt like warm ups in the first half. Messed up the only difficult shot he had to save. Attacked crosses well.

Danilo D’Ambrosio – 6.5: Didn’t venture forward much as we focused more on the left in the first half, but played a pinpoint cross for Radja and was quality when he did attack.

Stefan de Vrij – 6.5: Nice to have him back. Stefan makes the art of defending and playing out from the back look so easy. No major mistakes or panic in the second half.

Milan Skriniar – 7: Did the basics right, smells trouble two seconds before any other footballer you will ever see. Won a soft penalty and defended better under pressure.

Kwadwo Asamoah – 5.5: Too timid, you could write that every week. Doesn’t believe in his attacking ability and plays the safer option. When he takes risks they seem forced.

Matias Vecino – 7: Didn’t go missing as usual. Tried to play the early ball in when Frosinone lost it. Kept his composure when it mattered and played well throughout.

Borja Valero – 5: Replacing Brozo is not the easiest task in this team. Made a couple of minor mistakes in the first half and a major one that ruined a comfortable win.

Matteo Politano – 5: Should have scored, if his end product was half as good as his buildup play, he would be worth double. Never recovered from that missed chance.

Radja Nainggolan – 7: Radja is now backing up his statements with performances. Still not his best but deadly in the box. Gave it his all for each 50-50 ball. Led the midfield.

Ivan Perisic – 6: Didn’t take a lot of risks when the game was level. The penalty made him feel comfortable and then he played with more confidence and positivity.

Mauro Icardi – 6: Got involved a bit more than usual. Won an important ball that Politano should have scored from. Held play up well, but should have scored too.

Keita Balde – 6: Good positive impact, got to use his pace as Frosinone attacked and got his basics right. Should have had an assist towards the end. Starter maybe?

Roberto Gagliardini – 5.5: Gave away dangerous free kicks when it was easier to just escort the opponent and soak up pressure. Thankfully no damage caused. Uncomfortable.

Joao Mario – N/A: 5 mins or so, he ran for all of them and won a few pressure relieving free kicks. Positive play overall and we might need him against Roma in midfield.

Luciano Spalletti – 6.5: First 15 mins were poor and it needed a brilliant cross to spark life. Saw the trouble in the 2nd half and his subs were well timed to preserve the win.

Massa – 7: The penalty was a foul but it was too soft to be honest. Some minor errors here and there which evened out at the end. No major mistakes made.

Inter – 6: Not sure how we can start with that attitude. But the first goal helped pick the level up. A great team should be winning this 4-0, but we struggled.

Agree? Disagree? Who do you think was Inter’s best player of the night?
