There was an Inter scout present at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia as Atalanta and Empoli played out a goalless draw to watch a player from both sides according to a report from FCInterNews.it.
Duvan Zapata was the Atalanta player that the Inter scout was focused upon. The Colombian striker is on the list of names of players that could replace Mauro Icardi, who seems destined to leave the club in the Summer transfer window. As things stand, he is currently only an alternate option and finds himself behind Edin Dzeko and Romelu Lukaku on the list with the Belgian being the favourite. However, due to the fact he would cost far less, things could yet swing in Zapata’s favour.
The report goes on to state that the scout also paid close attention to Empoli defender Giovanni Di Lorenzo. Inter are keeping a close eye on the 25-year-old right back who impressed them on their previous scouting mission to watch him as he played against Napoli.
