The Serie A clash between Inter and Roma will not only be a battle for the Champions League but also one of superiority between Nainggolan and Zaniolo, a transfer that has been a hot topic of discussion this past season.

Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, once again returns to this issue, explaining that the different arguments that have been weighed against the expectations of each player. “While the Nerazzurri expected a lot from Radja, Roma fans expected very little of the former Nerazzurri Primavera star. With Nainggolan, the Nerazzurri expected great things, but sadly attitude and injury problems have stunted his form.”

“In decisive matches this season, Inter have been without Nainggolan, such as, in the Champions League against PSV, in the Europa League against Eintracht and even during the Coppa Italia against Lazio, he came on but missed the penalty.”

“But he still has one goal and that’s to help Inter be the Roma of last season and finish third, which justifies his purchase and Inter’s sacrifice of Zaniolo. Looking at the head-to-head, the statistics of each player are almost identical, yet the perception of each is tremendously different due to the expectations.”

Inter’s clash against Roma will be decisive in defining the importance of Radja, with Inter looking to all but secure Champions League, while Roma attempt to continue climbing the table.
