Inter coach Luciano Spalletti stopped by Inter TV to answer questions sent in from fans all over the world via Facebook, ahead of tomorrow’s Serie A clash against Roma at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district, with kick-off scheduled for 20.30 CET.

The former Roma coach began by praising the team’s performances recently before explaining what kind of a match he is expecting against his former paymasters.

“Lately the team has been demonstrating the right performances given the quality it possesses, to draw an analogy the rope has been tightened just about right, not too tight or too loose.”

“It will be a difficult match, they are a great team, that are going through a good period both in terms of performances as well as the results. Fighting for a place in the Champions League against a Roma side, that in these past few years deservedly and consistently been in the top 3 in the Serie A, shows us that the we are working in the right way and that we can allow ourselves to measure up against these teams that have put us in difficulty these past few seasons. ”

Spalletti then underlined that playing against the top teams is just as important as playing against the teams that are battling to avoid relegation.

“This has never been an issue for us. We have to always go out there and give important performances. This season and the season before, we have seen that we have risked dropping points against any team when we lack the authority and maturity required.”

“If you don’t show up with the right attitude that is needed to win then you never evolve how you play. You need to have all these components and Inter now has these at our disposal, it is enough to show this on our matches.”

In conclusion Spalletti praised the crowd at the San Siro, who he believes now are a part of the team.

“We have already said that the support from our fans is very important. We are maybe used to having their support and that they are part of our team. Without the fans we would be going into the games without a fundamentally important player.”
