The poor and dull version of Spalletti’s Inter turned up at the Meazza as the Nerazzurri came back to draw 1-1 after Stephan El Sharaawy curled a magnificent effort past Handanovic in the 15th minute.

Samir Handanovic – 6.5: Did well to stay awake until the 90th minute to make a big save to for the season. One other “iffy” moment but nothing much to do rest of the time.

Danilo D’Ambrosio – 5.5: Yes the assist saves him, but he was shoddy. Caught out countless times defensively. Poor passing and movement made Inter’s attack lethargic.

Stefan de Vrij – 5.5: Not his finest game. Dzeko was first to every ball and that is not a good sign for any central defender. Struggled to even make the telling passes he usually does.

Milan Skriniar – 5.5: Skriniar like De Vrij didn’t have the best of first halves. Was in trouble but improved massively in the second half. Coordinated Inter’s defensive set pieces.

Kwadwo Asamoah – 7: Asamoah had one of his best games this season. Attacked with purpose. Defended with steel. Only got beaten once all night. Could have scored.

Matias Vecino – 5: Playing in this deeper role is not his forte, but his passing, movement and even composure was missing. Missed a golden chance at half time.

Borja Valero – 6: Just like Asamoah, had a fantastic game and improved as it went on. Seems to have found confidence. The only negative is the tempo, which was too slow.

Matteo Politano – 6.5: A good comeback after a poor game in Frosinone. Troubled Mirante with his shots and Inter should be scoring the rebounds. Caused havoc all game.

Radja Nainggolan – 5: Radja looked mentally shot playing against his former employers. Spalletti rightfully brought him off first and early. Not a single positive memory.

Ivan Perisic – 6.5: Brilliantly taken goal, but needs to be more clinical and accurate with his shooting. Instincts are always right but the execution has been lacking.

Lautaro Martinez – 6.5 : After more than a month out of the lineup, Lautaro did his best with very little quality service. Looked good in the trequarterista role as well.

Mauro Icardi – 5.5: Brought on to pull defenders towards him and managed to do that a bit. But the service from the wings was poor overall. Didn’t press well enough.

Joao Mario – 5.5: Joao brought in a lot of energy but as usual his passing was 50-50. Was involved in a lot of play but it never materialized into something dangerous.

Keita Balde – N/A: Given 6-7 mins or so to do something and he was played out of his best position on the right. Didn’t manage to get into space where he can use his pace.

Luciano Spalletti – 5: The first 30 minutes were a write off. The team looked unprepared and without a plan. Vecino and Valero don’t work as a midfield duo. Everyone knows this except Spalletti.

Marco Guida – 5: Didn’t blow his whistle for some fouls that were clear as day and did for others that weren’t. Used VAR well and almost awarded Inter an incorrect penalty.

Inter – 5: Inter can’t start like that in a crucial game. A point is a good result but the attitude is something that is worrying and to be worked on. Poor set pieces again.

Agree? Disagree? Who do you think was Inter’s best player of the night?
