Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport reviews the mental and physical state of all the teams involved in the Champions League race, with just five rounds left to play.

In Inter’s case, the Nerazzurri had an excellent first round, accumulating 39 points and tightly holding onto the third spot. Despite, the dip in form, Inter were able to reclaim third, thanks to winning the Derby della Madonnina and their rivals dropping points elsewhere.

Interestingly, in 2019, Inter have done better away from home, since March 10th when then recorded a 2-0 win against SPAL, Inter have collected 13 points away from the San Siro in 7 games, in comparison to the 9 points they’ve won at San Siro.

In terms of the squad’s physical condition there is nothing to be concerned about at the moment. Brozovic was injured but will be back again this weekend. In addition, having solved the Icardi dilemma, he is now back on the bench as Lautaro’s reserve and has brought much needed calm to the environment.

Unfortunately for Inter, the calendar seems to be the toughest on them as they’ll need to do their best in two big games against Juventus and Napoli.

But winning fixtures against Udinese, Chievo and Empoli might be enough as, 10 points from the last five rounds would surely secure a spot in the Champions League for the Nerazzurri. Which would be the second time in two seasons under Spalletti, an impressive feat even if it has been a difficult ride.

In theory, Inter could even challenge Napoli for second, but it would take a smaller miracle. In the head-to-heads, Inter have the advantage over Milan and Lazio, are on par with Roma, but are at a disadvantage against Atalanta and Torino.
