Weeks ago it seemed impossible but it is looking increasingly likely that Luciano Spalletti will be in charge of Inter at the start of next season according to a report from Sport Mediaset.

Spalletti has Inter sat in third place with a comfortable lead over fifth place and the others currently chasing Champions League qualification.

The club leadership are understood to consider this a great achievement by the former Roma manager given all of the drama he has had to deal with, namely the Mauro Icardi saga which meant he was forced to find alternative solutions for around two months.

Moreover, he has had to deal with Radja Nainggolan among others not performing to expectations but thanks to some creative decisions, such as playing Matias Vecino higher up, he has managed to put Inter on the brink of qualifying for the second consecutive season.

More recently, there has been intense media speculation about his future with an abundance of reports discussing his successors that he has had to deal with.
