Danilo D’Ambrosio is set to be given a contract extension at Inter according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport, who have heaped praise on the Italian.

“Others have come and gone but he has always stayed and in the end he is always irrepalceble,” the report begins.

“Against Roma on Saturday night, he delivered the cross for Ivan Perisic’s goal which took his seasonal assists total to four in Serie A, the joint highest at Inter, a feat he shares with Matteo Politano, Perisic and Mauro Icardi.”

The 30-year-old full back has been with the club since January 2014 and has went on to make no less than 173 competitive appearances for Inter in the time since.

He is currently under contract through to the end of the 2020/21 season and even though Inter are reportedly targeting new players to strengthen at full back, the Milan based newspaper report that talks are already underway to prolong his contract for a further season.
