Former Inter player Francesco Colonnese has shared his views on Inter’s 1-1 draw with Roma at the weekend and looked ahead to this weekend’s match with Juventus.

“In the first half, Roma were better and deservedly took the lead. In the second half, Inter took the game in to their own hands and broke but I think the draw was a fair result in the end,” he told RMC Sport.

“Juventus have already won the scudetto but it will still be a tough match, even if the Bianconeri do not need to get anymore points. Inter still need to get points on the board for Champions League qualification. Saturday’s match will give Inter the opportunity to see if they can aim higher next season.”

He then spoke on the future of Luciano Spalletti at the club.

“The elimination from the Champions League has disappointed everyone but if he ends up taking Inter to third then that would be more than enough for him to stay. Except for a disaster, I think the club must continue with the project that they have started.”

He concluded by heaping praise on Lautaro Martinez.

“Lautaro is an important player and I like him very much. He can only improve as he continues to play and his future can only be bright. Age is on his side and he can be a great striker in the future.”
